Enhance EHSM DataSource

Hi,

We need to ehance DataSource 0EHSM_HSS_INC_REC_01 with 10 custom fields (from table EHHSSD_INC_BINFA, EHHSSD_INC_PINV).  We are planning to use BADI (instead of CMOD). 

Is BADI the right approach ? If anyone has used the BADI, could you please share which BADI for the EHSM.
