Batch Derivation at GR for Production order

Hi Experts,

I am using Batch derivation event 400 Goods Receipt for Production order for "Expiry date" ( Characteristic).

Scenario1)  Component Batch (Sender) and Batch for Header material ( Receiver)  is placed in production order.

While doing GR, batch derivation is successful.

Scenario 2)  Component batch (Sender) is mentioned in production order. Batch for header material is being created at GR.

Batch derivation is not successful. But business requires this as we have multiple batches for Header material in single Production order.

Can anybody please help me?
