Time to tackle big data, cloud and gamification with Design Thinking
If you’re like me, you probably hear the words cloud, big data, gamification, more times than you can count in one day. And, if you’re like me, you’re still trying to understand what it is and what the impact is on business and technology now and in the future.
These are definitely not light topics. And understanding them could be the key to solving many complex problems within your business. So where do you start?
Why not problem solve with your peers in a Design Thinking workshop? Now you may be asking yourself what a Design Thinking workshop is. Believe it or not, Design Thinking is a very cool and very different way to collaboratively problem solve and reach tangible outcomes. There is no slide presentation involved at all
What is Design Thinking?
Design thinking is a formal method for practical, creative resolution of problems or issues, with the intent of an improved future result – you can read more here.
It can be applied to:
- Business and technical scenarios or when the problem is
“wicked” in nature or not clearly defined - Design new products or services
- Identify opportunities for innovation
You can check out a real case example here - this is Kraft Food’s success story using Design Thinking to turn their export business around.
What happens in a Design Thinking workshop?
Participants use lots of sticky notes – you need something to write your ideas on. Everyone participates in a highly iterative process that allows you to build a solution with direct validation from your peers every step of the way.
